Online Call-to-Action: It's Never Too Late to Save The Internet As We Know It Today
There's so much noise in the news and social media nowadays that a lot of ground-breaking, life-changing legislative events have almost gone unnoticed by the American people.
One of those life-changing fights going on right now is the fight for Net Neutrality. For those that don't know, the operators of BattleForTheNet.com organized a massive internet based but real world action-taking oriented movement for today (July 12th) to petition and call Congressman across the country and let them know that (paraphrasing): I support the existing Title II Net Neutrality Rule and want you to publicly oppose the FCC's attempt to repeal it.
This is an action that I took today and I am proud to do so because I know that efforts like this actually work when it comes to pushing through an important position in the government.
I remember back in the winter of 2013, while some of you guys on here were buying up all the Bitcoins and getting ready to make a fortune ;-) ... myself and a lot of other Poker Players Alliance supporters living in New Jersey were bombarding Gov. Chris Christie's office to fight for online poker. And guess what?
We won!
Here's a quote from a Poker Players Alliance email announcing the victory to participating subscribers:
EXCELLENT NEWS! Earlier today [February 26, 2013) Governor Chris Christie signed AB 2578, a bill that authorizes Internet gaming in New Jersey. This new law will help invigorate Atlantic City and turn New Jersey into an epicenter for Internet poker.
You got that one right, Gov. Christie!

Back to Net Neutrality...
So, as a good point to get back into Net Neutrality, trust me when I say that calling, emailing or tweeting your Representatives, even during off business hours like now definitely works and gets the job done.
This means to not just look at the time or date you're reading this and saying, "welp, July 12th is over so on to the next piece of viral content on the web.." Because if we lose this battle, there may come a day where every single viral content that you consume, costs as much as your snack for lunch ( and that adds up real quick)....
- Call everyday you can
- Email if you have it
-Tweet your Congressman
-Share this post, the banners, video and also check out this Google Doc file with A LOT more memes, banners, and video clips like those in this article
- Tell your family and friends the real danger this repeal poses to every single internet user, not just the "geeks"
Like any massive organization, it takes a ton of effort and a long time to get the ship going one direction and right now that direction is repealing existing net neutrality rules for the benefit of a few.
And I know we can probably permanently solve this problem somehow through the blockchain but the now of this issue is mission critical so we have to act now in a massive way to meet and exceed the opposing force that's been able to move this ship far enough to make this a real thing and now a real fight for freedom.
As I mentioned earlier about the date and time ... Don't worry about the specific date but do embody the spirit of consistent action-taking until we achieve victory (or fight off this repealing net neutrality flu that's spreading around Washington).
Battle For The Net's Website echos the same sentiment about the ongoing nature of this fight:
And you don't have to wait until the day of action to drive traffic to Battle for the Net. If you’re ready to start now, go for it! And we'll need to keep pushing after July 12 too, so don't stop then!
What effects do you see this Net Neutrality issue having on the cryptocurrency space in the near future?

I'm so onboard with everything you said in this post. People need to take this issue very seriously. Thank you. Resteeming, upvoting and following you now!
Thanks so much for taking time to read @crystalize! Glad to have you on board. I was lucky enough to come to the U.S back in the late 90s when the internet was starting to take shape on the world like blockchain is doing today, and it would literally break my heart to see people forced back to the 56K dial-up modem days in the name of "maximizing profits" ... I hope this helps to further get the word out and encourage others to act while we still can do something about it.. Thanks again and follow back on the way!
It is my pleasure to resteem and upvote the iimportant information you shared. Thanks agan, an gawd no to dial up!!

Hope people are signing this, it takes literally less than a minute if not just 30 seconds, so easy, do it on your phone.
Exactly @cryplectibles! I figured that we can get some folks in here to click over and take action since Steemit is an action-taking platform and taking action is the only way one is going to socially and economically benefit here so I'm kind of banking on the community's habit profile here haha! Thanks for commenting
