My first post, or Story about russian fun
Yesterday one friend of mine told me about this new social media platform. To say that it inspired me is to say nothing. For a long time I wanted to blog, and here I decided to put it all together. I think it won't be a blog on a specific topic, and I'm sincerely grateful to everyone who reads me. All good!
Always with a slight touch of envy and hate staring at the runners. With envy, because I still haven't shown willpower and couldn't exercise more regularly than a couple of weeks a year; with hate, because if "Why do they do it like gods with such easiness? Аnnoying"
In my business, I often deal with medical documentation that is needed for participating in running races. For those who don't know, in Russia in order to participate in the race you need to have a doctor-confirmed good health. For this to pass an electrocardiogram (ECG) to make sure that your engine is sufficiently strong after all training and ready for competition, to exclude a somatic pathology and to get the coveted admission from the therapist. Accordingly, the length of the future distance affects the thoroughness of the inspection.
The most popular distances are 3.218 (= 2 miles), 5 and 10 kilometers. At such times I think: "OK ... I like walking and I can cope with these kinds of distances, even with pleasure, those who know how to and likes to run, apparently, do it with the same feeling..." But yesterday there was some dialogue with my colleague:
"...They need a survey for the race for a distance of 155 km.
"Did you mean 55 km? Or rather a marathon 42 km? Or maybe 15.5 km?
"No. For. A. Distance. Of. One. Hundred. And. Fifty-Five. Kilometers. I've clarified, the race is called "Ultra" and will be within Altay Kray, they are going to fly there tonight."
Vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbgggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhjjjjjjjjjjj
- this is my fallen jaw still lies on the keyboard
So, a little bit about this a 155-kilometer race of perverted runners)
First of all, it's a trial. It's not carefree jogging around the stadium. This race is based on soil, but we also talk about the race in Altai, goose bumps on the skin only from the name's cruelty. But I need to add a few facts. The total increase in altitude of the height above sea level is 7580 m!
Secondly, 155 kilometers of distance is divided into 3 days, pieces of 64, 38, 53 km.
Thirdly, the route is into such as... into such depth of the taiga, and the quickest way to get there, if you do not know how to teleport, is 7-hour way by wheels from Gorno-Altaisk-city.
Fourthly, yes, indeed, there is also fourthly as if all that before wasn't quite difficult. The list of necessary equipment consists of 20 items + food, and additionally recommended are another 9.
A small nuance, this challenge will be remembered not only by you but and by your equipment too, because it will be delivered to the transshipment points by helicopter.
And now let's start to imagine colorfully:
The flight from Moscow to Gorno-Altaisk takes 4 hours and an one-way flight costs $300
The transfer Gorno-Altaisk - Tungur-village, where competition will be (Ust-Koksinsky district of the Altay Kray), takes 7-8 hours and the cost is $44 per person. By minibus. If it is not quite difficult, you can fly from Moscow to Barnaul then to get to Tungur by wheels in 10-12 hours, or, for instance, from Novosibirsk - in 12-14)))
Arrive at the final destination, check-in the race ... And at 2 am, you stand on the starting line and feel more cheerful than taiga's larks. You're wearing in the dirt-protective gaiters, I should notice, with a star-headlamp, like the princess-swan from Russian fairytales, or at least like the local miners, and an extra headlamp in the pocket, in which already put: a smartphone in a package, a cream for blisters, a 1-liter bottle for water, passport, GPS-navigator and a lot of stuff for this fascinating jog. And... the next 22 hours and 68 km you run through the mountains, as the organizers politely warn about that along the route you can expect heaps of fallen trees, stone runs, a lot of marshes, log crossings and fords, and probably some snow fields. But you don't have to be distracted by the beauty for a long time, if you run faster, you'll rest more, because the next day's start at 10 am and run another 38 km, about 10 hours, and again no one prevents you from doing it faster. And all of it among Altaic mountain-creek sophistication, supping the purest water of mountain's springs, straight ahead, for to to meet the third day, when we start at 6 am for the final 58-kilometer spurt. Only 18 hours and you are an "Ultra"-King of the Taiga. Such a typical KING OT THE TAIGA.
By the way, the admissible age of participants is from 21 to 70 years. If you think that this action was not deceived by anybody, then all the applicants are listed on the website, for this distance - 25 people! Twenty-five, Carl! The average age is 37 years.
All the information can be confirmed on the official website of the event. I throw in the sky a bonnet-bra or what should I throw when I meet such people. At a minimum, print the list and put it in a red corner.
Thanks for the good article
