Can YouTube Harm DTube? Let's be Proactive! Serious Question.
I was thinking about this the other day and wondering how we could be proactive just incase a giant attack in underway. I'm not trying to spread FUD or anything, I'm just speaking in hypotheticals. And ultimately, I believe that DTube will be the champion if a fight does ensue. My question is this - What will happen when/if YouTube finds out about DTube and sees it at a legitimate threat? Using the 5 stages of grief my thoughts are as follows (please let me know your thoughts and share it with all of us!)
- Ignore/Deny DTube - This is actually where I think we are right now. Maybe they have noticed us, but we're just too small to even pay much attention to it. They're way too busy demonetizing videos so they get all the ad revenue.
- Anger/Attack DTube - They can attack it from several fronts. Copyright laws - Government Intervention - Smear Campaign - Website Hack/Spam
- Negotiate - Any thoughts?
- Accept Defeat - Trouble shooting?
- Accept and Adapt - Maybe develop their own blockchain type reward system? I've seen comments below talking about how this isn't possible because the government won't let them - thoughts on this guys?
I'm sure we can put our brains together and collectively come up with some proactive solutions and continue to help the platform thrive and reach it's full potential.

I don't think that youtube is able to do anything for Dtube since Dtube is totally decentralized and build on Steem ecosystem.
It's the same as Reddit or Facebook can't do anything against stem as it's decentralized too.
And this is the advantage od DAPS (Decentralized apps) they are unstoppable and No one con control them :)

I do agree that in the long-term it's unstoppable. However there are still centralized elements of steemit and DTube that can temporarily be halted. WE ARE THE FUTURE!

Definitely a very important topic to be discussed, but also very scary
While I do agree that this is a very important topic for all of us to be aware of and to think of solutions to counter a possible attack on various fronts, I’m confident we as a community will continue to thrive here and our Knights of the Round table (Dev Team) will figure out counter measures to stay afloat.

I think the issue comes down to being able to profit of copyright material. If there was infrastructure implemented to limiting profiting off other peoples work without their permission and taking fair use into account, then this would be less of an issue. I agree, Dtube should be proactive in dealing with this issue before it comes up.
