This is quite the conundrum for me; I get more enjoyment from comments and conversation yet, if someone were to leave I positive comment without upvoting, it would seem mildly insulting.
I suppose my answer would be that a quality comment is more motivating but only if it's accompanied with an upvote.

They both should go hand in hand because if one should upvote your post and leaves no comment, it shows no interest. So also when one comments nicely and leaves no vote, it suggests that the person just commented just for the sake of it... i belief that this post should be resteemed 100%. what do you think? many persons ought to engage in this debate.
