Why there is no real democracy.

in #blog7 years ago

Our democratic groups fail the test of democracy over and over. We find that politicians are beholden to their corporate donors or just act on a corrupt self serving basis. The list of grievances regarding undemocratic processes goes on and on.

People have become brainwashed into accepting that dictatorial leadership is a right of the representative. The definition of democracy infers that the representative has the obligation to represent their constituents and not to lead (as in leadership) by virtue of unilateral decrees or actions. To be a valid democracy, representatives must be responsive to the will of the people.

Citizens are completely outside of the stream of the decision making process. They are not invited to review any pending bills or budgets let alone have any input or feedback on these proposals. Neither media nor the politicians offer a link to view these proposals. We need a simple way to check all pending legislative proposals and at the same time people need to poll the will of the constituents so that the representative can vote accordingly in the government body.

Agree. The choice is actually given by the government/big company at first.
