Ignorance of our right to self determination is the undoing of past and present societies. Wars fought by governments are a leading cause of death to civilians. Putting your faith and trust to "leaders" is what has caused the deaths of millions of innocent people.

Whether or not these governments were democracies or dictatorships the point is that the population as a whole lacked the ability to veto leaders.The root of Government is govern(control) and ment (mind) essentially means mind control.This multi generational manipulation of society is based on a simple tactic, ignorance. We the people have become we the sheeple.
A quick overview reveals that our cultures are being sold false paradigms of democracy. The power hungry have created a mythology and cult of leadership. Further it is layered with the spectacle of party politics and all the associated hysteria. The idea that representative democracy is there to lead and guide us is a false power grab. Representative democracy was born out of necessity because it was impractical for earlier generations to directly participate in governance because of vast distances in geography. Modern web technology solves this problem by giving citizens the ability to directly communicate there position on pending legislative proposals. The sole purpose of the representative is to represent the democratic will of the constituents.

At the heart of democracy is direct democracy as often experienced in the form of referendums, e-petitions and ballot initiatives.
There are hundreds of books written about direct democracy but its a subject that the media are happy to not talk about.
We are spoon fed our daily formula of leadership and party politics to keep us distracted from realizing our inherent power for self determination.Its time to fill the void of ignorance. The principles of direct democracy should be mainstream information.
