30 year olds guide to everything!! Success in America

Steemit!! Lets live the American dream,

I, like most of you have probably been hearing lately of the ills of America and in recent years the disparity between the 1% and the 99%. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. However you want to say it the thought in this country seems to be trending toward the notion that it is getting more and more difficult to become successful. So, I figured I would give everybody my thoughts on how you can still be a success in America.

First, I want to say I'm not talking about being rich or being famous. I have some thoughts on being rich but I'm talking about being successful. I don't believe the American dream is being rich. I believe it is chasing your dreams, being able to be what you want to be if your willing to work for it. I believe the narrative about the American dream has been switched from equal opportunity to the fight for equal outcome. That's communism and communism is evil!

The way to success in America is simple but hard, if that makes any sense. The way to success is commitment and hard work. I believe to be successful you need to decide what you want to be in this world and then sell out to achieve that. Don't set a timetable or lose focus. Let's say you devoted yourself to your job at McDonald's for 20 years and became a Store Manager you still have a good life. A median salary of 47,000 dollars, high of 70,000. That's not taking into account the fact that you could be married and maybe your spouse brings in another 40,000. Now your making 80,000 a year at least. That's a good life.

The problem is nobody is willing to do that. They think it's beneath them. This is another ill of social media and the internet in my opinion. People get distracted and think the grass is always greener. Here is something that you really never hear. Somebody makes a bunch of money in retail and then leaves retail to make a bunch of money in food service, then they leave that to go make a bunch of money in oil and gas. That isn't real.

If your a sports fan or you like rap music like I do a phrase you will always hear is that the person is grinding or they grinded to get where they are. That is a principle that works for everybody not just musicians and athletes. If you want to excel in anything you need to adopt the grinding mindset. Everybody can be a success if they grind for it. It just may look different than an athlete. If your a teacher, your grind may look like getting to school before your fellow teacher, spending more time on your prep work, working late into the night grading papers to your best ability, staying late after school to help a struggling student. After all that you are taking night classes to finish your masters degree. That's grinding. That teacher will rise above their peers.

So to wrap up, work harder than everyone else, study harder than everyone else, show up earlier, leave later than everyone else and do that for longer than everyone else. That is the only surefire way to make it.
