My Dynamo Dissapointment
This weekend I had the chance to check out British Magician Dynamo live during his Seeing Is Believing Tour here in Cape Town. I was pretty amped for the show, I haven't seen any magic since I was a kid and having watched his show Magician Impossible and followed some of his stuff on Youtube I thought I knew what I was getting myself into.
The show kicks off with the most dramatic introduction with an animated depiction of Dynamos early life that mirrors that of the origin story of so many comic book characters we've come to know and love. After about 10 minutes he finally steps out and does a brief introduction before moving onto the show.
I'm going to tackle the show in 3 parts and group similar acts together
Slight of hand tricks
His slight of hand tricks are great making cards disappear, change colour, reappear you know the things you come to expect from a street magician. Dynamo is a great showman and every trick of this type was pulled off well and I could have no issue with the fact that I don't know how he did it.
Performances with the audience
Every trick he did involving the audience just didn't seem genuine enough for me, I felt like the answers we coached and rehearsed before time. They simply didn't feel authentic enough and when it came time for reactions it was just as stale and fell flat, the so-called audience member didn't really sell it to me and it was evident in Dynamos reaction in many interactions with audience members.
Physics defying tricks
While definitely the most creative and visually appealing of all his acts they were ruined for me with the use of poor lighting and stage tricks. He would either step back far into the shadows of the stage when performing the trick or you would be almost blinded to the point of having a seizure by the lighting as he reveals his trick so before you can readjust your eyes his already began and you missed the transition from ordinary to extradodinary
Last words
I have nothing against Dynamo I think his a great entertainer, the show was put together well if very dramatic at times and you can see real thought and planning was put into choreographing each trick.
Maybe I'm too critical but I don't think the show was worth the money and maybe it loses its impact when his standing on stage and not right in front of you as a street magician as he does in his TV shows. I was disappointed the show didn't really do much for me and I doubt I'd be interested in seeing a magic show any time soon.
Have your say
Are you a fan of Dynamo? Have you checked out his live shows before? What did you make of it?

@therealwolf 's created platform smartsteem scammed my post this morning (mothersday) that was supposed to be for an Abused Childrens Charity. Dude literally stole from abused children that don't have mothers ... on mothersday.

And the reason why is because @therealwolf is disgusting slimy pedophile that enjoys abusing kids. Here's proof of him upvoting child porn on the steemit blockchain. bigbadwolf indeed.
