Some ideas to make the most of Steemit

Today was an interesting day for Steemit. The platform was unavailable most of the day because of an update. At least, that's what seems to have been the "problem", according to some messages I read in Discord channels...
Things happened right after I published my first interview on my blog. Bummer! I was so excited to feature Stefan Lenz! Please, consider reading his interview here and checking out his work afterwards. He is very talented!
When I started blogging, 15 years ago, the number of blogs and bloggers was WAY lower than it is now. In this day and age, millions of posts are published on a daily basis. About 80 or 90% are poorly written or researched. As a result, they drown the good stuff, making it (very) hard to find.
Steemit is no exception, unfortunately. It can be very time-consuming to uncover gems here. That is the reason why the work of many authors goes unnoticed. But it does not mean that things have to remain that way. I am here to tell you that, no matter who you are, you can make things happen for your blog -- and yourself.
I started using Steemit about a month ago, and have already seen tremendous results. Several of my posts have gone viral. Some Steemians have featured me. And I have won a couple of contests. Needless to say that that kind of support is amazing for a small-time artist like me. So thank you to all of you for your upvotes, comments, resteems, and features!
So, how did I do it? I have read a lot, asked questions and implemented every advice given to me.
There is no secret recipe to being successful on Steemit. It's all about strategy, hard and smart work, and geniune care for others. Below are four main ideas you should consider implementing.
How do you promote your content? Where do you share your links? There are several good Discord channels and Facebook Groups, for example, where you can promote your stuff and interact with fellow Steemians. I have "met" some very nice people there and, beyond making new friends, I have also been able to attract valuable support for my content.
Do you tag your posts properly?
When you are done self-promoting, what do you do next? Do you respond to comments? Do you read other people's posts in your field? Do you leave comments, upvote / resteem posts? Do you show genuine interest in what others have to say?
How helpful are you to your community? Blogging about what you know and providing quality content are great things. Unfortunately, they are not enough. Do you promote others as well?

Great post and some good tips. It is amazing how people start out here and expect that posting low quality content will get them rewards. It's a lot of work blogging on the web anywhere else; it is no different here. It takes time, effort and quality to achieve an outcome. Glad your finding it worth your time; steemit needs more people like yourself.

I agree with you. The whole web is the same. What works here in terms of quality will work anywhere else. I wish more people understood that basic rule.
nice tips, however it's not only about quality which is relative if you ask me. Personally, I think those that go far on this plaltform are people who have something to give in terms of the worth of their upvotes. That doesn't mean that making good posts isn't important. it all depends on who you want to attract and your objective on the blockchain, which will determine your output.
I also said that it wasn't just about quality.
And even if I agree with you on the "worth of upvotes", some people like me aren't into cryptocurrency. I just enjoy being part of a community that cares about others.
