Meanwhile, in Australia, TP FOMO is REAL.

By now everyone would have heard about covid19. Some say it's a pandemic, some reckon it's a side effect of 5G, depopulation, fear mongering, propaganda ~ whatever you believe in one thing's for sure, it's been widely publicised and hyped by the media.

These days I can't scroll down my news feed without seeing a covid19 post. Symptoms, how to deal with it, where it's at, how many infected, how many deaths and more recently, panic hoarding of toilet paper.

Yep. TP Hoarding.

Although I'm really not surprised. I've said toilet paper would be like gold if the zombie apocalypse ever came. Even though there's not a zombie in sight, people are really acting like its end of days out there.

According to this there's 41 confirmed cases in Australia as of yesterday.

Is that enough for people to be carrying on like this?

Do you have enough loo paper?

How many rolls is enough? And wouldn't it make more sense to hoard food cos what's the point of stocking up on tp if you have no food?

That last point was made by Hubby. Makes sense!

Due to the frenzy, Woolworths now has a 4 packet per order/purchase limit on tp.

In the event you were forced to quarantine yourself for 14 days surely 4 packets is enough right?

In most cases 4 packets (depending on how many rolls per pack of course) should be enough for 2 weeks but that's not the problem here.

The problem, and this is the boat I'm in, is FOMO. Running out and then being stuck hunting down tp or like many others right now, lining up at the local Coles or Woolies before opening like you're waiting for the latest iphone release.

Right now I know 3 people who have run out and cant get any. One of them spent the entire day yesterday going from store to store and returned home empty handed.

Australia is, legit, tp crazy at the moment that even sites like whogivesacrap.org has run out.

Where to buy tp...

Here are the lesser known places you can buy tp from.

bigw.com.au
officeworks.com.au
therejectshop.com.au

We got ours from BigW which was the only shop left in the mountains that still had toilet paper on the shelves.

pureplanetclub.com
amazon.com.au

If you're really desperate check out gumtree..

Are we going to run out?

Well... by the looks of this 👇 seems like there's plenty to go around.

Further thoughts...

Let's face it, a huge percentage of what we have available on the shelves from food to clothes to anything really is made in China. Who knows when things will be back to normal over there. A friend has shared that for her company, imports from China are expected in May but they have been warned that it may take longer, and a I totally believe that.

I think this is a great opportunity for everyone to start sourcing and buying local and Australian made produce and products.

Peeps buying up all the sugar too? See if there's a local bee keeper in your area.

Good luck with the FOMO frenzy Aussies and stay safe out there!

How are you guys overseas going? Are you all acting like the apocalypse is upon us and stocking up on tp?

Ever since I had a bowel condition when I was younger, I've always treated a massive stockpile of toilet paper as a security blanket.

I didn't need to buy any toilet paper as I normally keep about a healthy supply in the house at all times.

Comes from a point in my life when I went through about 4-7 toilet rolls a day due to aforementioned bowel condition.

I'm better now, but the safety blanket of that supply means I can sit back and laugh at all these crazy people. :D

Just curious... What's a "healthy supply"?

I currently have a whooping 108 rolls stashed away, 114 if I count the loose rolls from the last packet. To me that's an insane amount.

I didn't buy the tp btw I sent Hubby to go get them and next thing you know I've got a mountain of rolls and 4 boxes of nappies.

Ps. Glad you're better now and that experience prepared you for the apocalypse.

~200?

Cheerin!!!! That's one hell of a safety blanket!!

Supports my Dads theory that 85 percent of the population are idiots.

🤣🤣🤣 it's like the one I posted on the Team Aus channel this arvo.

I still don´t get it. Why are they buying so much toilet paper? It´s almost like people could not survive without it. Also, milk and stuff like that. Buy canned veggies, fruits, pasta, rice....but toilet paper? 😂

Lol I'm baffled too! In saying that though we got fomo'd and ended up buying 4 packets 🤣

Canned vegs, fruits and rice are also hot ticket items but not flying off the shelves like toilet paper 🤷🏻‍♀️

🤣🤣🤣 GOLD!!!
Best apocalypse tp advert I've read today.

I guess it's a useful thing to stock up on especially if you have people in the house who have a bad habit of using way too much? XD

But yeh not sure why you wouldn't be stocking up on non-perishable food more o_O

It's not a bad thing to stock up on, it's always gonna get used eventually. I think people are starting to stock up on non perishable too. Hubby said there were people on top of each other in the long life milk isle. It's all a bit crazy but I suppose nothing wrong in being prepared 🤷🏻‍♀️
