Run Fat Boy Run. Diary of a Pizza Delivery Dude.

It's been a long time since I posted one of my stories from a night working as a pizza delivery guy but to night has given me some inspiration and I wanted to share it with you all.

Let me paint you a picture, I am a 30 something year old male who weighs in at 20 stone and the most exercise I get is probably when I walk into the school grounds to pick up my kids.

Tonight like many nights I went to work for a not so local pizza company, the reason it's not local is because I have been loaned out to them from my boss who knows that they need a reliable driver until they can get one for them selves.

I went to an address and looked at the ticket that I had been given, on the ticket there was some instructions from the customer

Use the back door please, front door is out of use

I walked up to the house and at the side there was a big black gate that was about 8 feet high, I opened it and pushed it to see a massive garden that looked like some had spent a lot of time looking after.

I made my way a long the wooden decking to a door that I now know was the kitchen door, as lifted my hand to start my knock I heard a noise.

Now this noise wasn't loud but it was a noise in the garden and it was to the side of me, then another noise to the other side of me, I turned my head to see.....

a nice big drooling Rottweiler, the noise I had heard was it opening its mouth to breath.

I quickly thought to myself, I need to run so I turned my head to the other side so I could see my escape route to find its bigger brother blocking my exit.

My heart was at this point in my mouth, I quickly banged on the door and hoped that I wasn't going to be on the dogs menu for tonight's tea.

This women opened the door super quick and jumped in front of me and ushered the dogs in the house, she then quickly apologised for the dogs been in the garden.

I made a joke, "it's all right they look harmless", she looked at me and said "I am surprised they didn't attack you like the last delivery guy"

It turns out that she had let them out to wee, and because the order on just eat had said it would be at her house for 9pm she thought that she had enough time to let them out and get them back in before I was to turn up with her food.

Now that is what I call a close call.
