The mystery of nature - an unusual pink diamond

The mystery of the color of a pink diamond: solid hypotheses?

No doubt, fantasy diamond precious minerals (namely, the sample considered in the article) cause admiration, undisguised envy and genuine surprise. Especially after people look at him at least in the photo, and even better in the living.

Before scientists and the whole world there is still a mystery, covered with gloom, assumptions and hypotheses about how pink diamonds acquire such a color and what is the reason for this?

Let's consider the basic assumptions that have the right to life, and do not refer to inappropriate and unimaginable (for example, that similar diamonds were brought by aliens).

Symbiosis of temperature and pressure
One hypothesis is that a pink diamond appears because of a unique combination of factors. Up to an accuracy of 1 degree of temperature and 1 bar of pressure of natural intramural processes over long tens, hundreds, and sometimes thousands of years at a constant level.

This theory has a right to exist, since mother nature always does only unique and unique things.

This applies not only to minerals. Try to remember, for example, two absolutely identical storms or the same volcanic eruptions. Remembered? We doubt it. The same thing happens with the formation of diamonds in the earth's crust, a process still very far from complete understanding, since it occurs far from the human eye and from its direct or indirect impact.

Pink dust
The second hypothesis is a bit more mundane.

It is believed that such a characteristic color of a pink diamond is achieved through the ingress of various impurities and dust into the mineral, deposits of metal compounds, including ferrous and manganese ores.

However, each time they found copies of a variety of shades and saturation, they found in the examination in them elements that at times were not related to each other and could not give such a color.

It should be noted that we still do not fully understand and understand the process of the formation of such diamonds. This theory also has the right to exist, since it does not cause a sharp rejection.

Symbiosis of theories
The third theory of emergence is a symbiosis of the two listed above. That is, the formation of pink diamond occurs when mother-nature uses unique conditions of pressure and temperature, and at the same time adds its own "colors" - an impregnation into the diamond layer of ferruginous and manganese ores.

This hypothesis is considered to be the most acceptable, because ferruginous ores and lithium particles participate in the formation of the same yellow, brown and amber diamonds, while the formation of blue minerals is mainly boron particles (which, by the way, substantially change the properties of the electrical conductivity and dispersion of the crystal).

Lamproite
The fourth hypothesis is still considered unexplored, but also having a full right to exist. The fact is that now on Earth the rarest diamonds are purple. They are found quite recently, on the Australian continent, more precisely in the west of the continent.

These developments are "fresh" and recently opened. Previously, the kimberlite pipe, known in the world, was considered the basis of all bases, we mentioned the formation process in which diamonds were written in previously written articles, then in Australia a completely new kind of tube, lamproite, appeared. Unique components of this variety are still little known and are only now beginning to be studied.

Lamproite is a unique constituent of volcanic material.

It arose as a result of the yet unexplored, definite influence of natural factors on the outflowing magma in the form of lava. This was facilitated by certain circumstances and subsequent impacts over many hundreds, thousands and millions of years.

The existence of the theory is not questioned, since new materials of rocks certainly testify to this. But the whole process of formation has not been studied so far.

Space theory
Another, fifth, theory of the partial process of formation of pink diamonds, which also deserves attention. It is believed that some pink samples flew to us from space with the help of "space guests" - meteorites. The hypothesis has a right to life, because before the existence of the atmosphere and the appearance of a natural satellite of the Earth - the Moon - they often visited us and left their traces.

High pressure drops and a sharp increase in temperature at the time the meteorite collided with the earth's surface could have provoked this process, and millions of years since that moment have simply hidden pink diamonds under the deep layer of formed ores and earth.

Also, it should not be denied that pink diamonds, like other varieties of this mineral, could have been brought by the uninvited guest. After all, most of the things that make up our universe and things used in our world are carbon. Also in space there is also hydrogen (the second main component), but in this case, carbon plays a decisive role.

Which of the hypotheses to adhere to is up to you. We only revealed a little more unknown to this mystery and tried to explain them to you as clearly and colorfully as possible.

"Pink Star" and other unique pink diamonds and diamonds
Until the last moment, pink diamonds did not want to be regarded as specimens of jewelery value. Only after the spectral analysis did not find anything (literally nothing!) Except for a pure diamond, these stones began to gain popularity and grow in price.

Absolute record holder among pink diamonds is such a unique specimen as the diamond "Pink Star". He weighs as much as 59.6 carats, and his photo you can see above.

His rim at the moment is rightly considered a ring of expensive and well-known metal. Do you know how much it was bought by an unknown buyer at the world's most famous Sotheby's auction for the last time? 89 000 000 million dollars or 5 340 000 000 rubles! Can you imagine this amount? Such fabulous cost automatically immediately awarded a record to a pink diamond, and subsequently to a high-quality and unique diamond.

Brilliant "Pink Panther"
Few people will remember, but still. Known both as a film and as a cartoon film, which was called the "Pink Panther" with the adventures of all the famous slovenly intelligent and unique detective Clouseau.

Thanks to these creations, the diamond has become even more popular. A clever and well thought-out PR campaign or coincidence of circumstances, inspired by the author of these works? It is unlikely that we now, after a while, will be able to accurately answer this question. But this diamond does exist and costs fabulous money. Buy it can only a few, which causes both admiration for the miracle, and a little sadness for not such a rich reader.

It's called a little differently - "The Vivid Pink" - "Fierce pink", which currently adorns a ring of white gold. Weigh a 5 carat diamond.

A very delicate diamond with pink smooth overflows and unique cut only accentuates and impresses its unique depth and richness of color and transparent shade, which is currently estimated at 10,800,000 US dollars.

The famous ring with a pink diamond
In part, it applies to the Russian. It was a unique ring with a pink diamond weighing 11 carats that was recently presented by the romantic of our time of Spanish origin Enrique Iglesias to his beloved Russian tennis player Anna Kournikova, thereby surprising not only her but the whole world. For today the ring is estimated approximately in 11 000 000 dollars.

Another record holder is "Vivid Pink from Graff"
This instance is called "Vivid Pink from Graff", which is also famous throughout the world. Have noticed that unlike the diamond jewelry of other color solutions, the names of pink diamonds practically do not differ?

Weigh this stunning piece of rectangular cut as much as 14.23 carats. The diamond is framed in a ring consisting of white gold, which only emphasizes the beauty of the jewelry and a couple of additional ones present in the decoration of diamonds weighing 3.4 carats.

At one time, this decoration belonged to a rather famous millionaire, called Huguett Marcel Clarke. In 2012, at no less well-known auction called "Christies", "Kushonovsky" diamond framed in gold, was sold for 15.7 million dollars. At this time, strangely enough, the buyer is known. It is well-known in jewelry and related areas - the owner of the world-famous jewelry house "Stettner Investment Diamonds" - Brett Stettner.

Interesting facts about pink diamonds

  • The prices for these instances are not going to decline, but will only grow. They do not obey the laws of the economy, nor the various price-lists and rules that can apply to other original classic diamonds. For example, the prices for them rose sharply, when the main owner of the mines for the mining of pink diamonds announced a possible closure of the mines. Doubtful fact-duck, which allowed to instantly increase their value due to rarity.

  • Ornaments inside of which are pink diamonds, as a rule, combine only precious metals of the highest quality of yellow gold, platinum, white gold, as it is their noble origin that is further emphasized by elegance, uniqueness and romantic mood of color and excellent shades.

  • Unique pink diamonds, and later diamonds and jewelry from them, are sold only in well-known worldwide auctions. (Well, in the black markets, of course). Therefore, if you are offered to buy a pink diamond in an ordinary branch or jewelry boutique, you should treat it with extreme caution and mistrust and check thoroughly all the certificates and the facts of a possible forgery before buying.

  • As a rule, even the acquisition of not only a unique pink mineral, but also other fantasy-color patterns, has always been a good investment that will never fall in price, and will only grow with time. Therefore, we recommend a reasonable, albeit expensive, investment of funds in your future.

  • Some future owners of such diamonds carry out an advance payment and can wait for their unique pattern for several months, and sometimes for a whole year!

Here is such a tiny pink pebble that has aroused the whole world in a rather short period of time.
