How To Include Your Sources, The Right Way, For Photos Or Gifs In A Post! If Not Doing This You Need Too!

in #blog5 years ago (edited)

I see some users that are not citing their sources right and it is hindering them from growing their channels here on Steemit. I do not know if it is they do not know how to do so or they just do not care but sources need to be cited telling the readers of their posts where they are getting those pictures or gifs from.

So I thought I would tell me how I source mine and they can go from there. If they find a better way then I encourage them to let us know in the comments! We can learn from each other and help each other improve Steemit together!

This Is An Example Of How I Do Gifs And Pictures!

It will look like it does in the post above. You can do the same for pictures you use from other websites also. If you look at my footer picture you will see I did it that way with it also.

The first line is the link of the picture and the second line will be the website the picture came from.
The code I used in the post to center the gif or picture is like this and cite the source!

As you can see it is not hard at all and just takes a second or two of extra time and it will help you grow you channel because it will help you and you can get more upvotes because you cited your sources right. Most all of the curation communities on Steemit look at the citing of your sources and if they are wrong you will get passed over for an upvote.

A picture I took on a clear night!

If you do not cite a source it is a given you took the picture yourself, you need to state somewhere in the post these are pictures taken by you. They will be checked to be sure they are not plagiarized from a website at that point, they will also check the sources you have stated on the pictures or gifs that you have posted! I hope this post has helped some of you posting on Steemit! Have a great day/night, whatever it is in your part of the world!

great info 'cuz was just wondering a day or two ago how people did the source link, I usually just credited it at the bottom of the post, which wasn't that bad 'cuz I don't use many images or gifs... thanks for the post ;9)

I did that a lot at first too. Then I wanted to make sure I have done it right. I mainly use my own photos but sometimes I like to throw a gif in to make it kinda funny, hoping I make someone smile that day.
Thanks for the upvote, follow and comment!
