Thoughts About Ethics, Laws and Motivation

Just because something is legal doesn't mean that it is right. In an age where profits have become more important than humanity, I have seen many companies do things that while may be legal are flat out wrong. I recently was laid off only to find out that I would be replaced by a cheaper foreign worker. This upset me a lot, no warning, no notice, no honor. Being a millennial who has been treated like trash by our system for the last few years I've lost a lot of motivation to work for a system that doesn't pay enough to get anywhere, and doesn't offer any longevity. Why should someone work only to get screwed over and live paycheck to paycheck every month.

Now I know this has sounded a bit rantlike so far, but the important thing to realize is that everything you do is a vote. If you don't like the way Walmart treats its workers, don't shop there. If you don't support Google and its parent company Alaphabet trying to change search results to influence the election, use Bing. If you don't like the fact that the cost of education is too high, write a letter to the secretary of education. If you don't support bad laws, get involved and start a youtube channel. The one issue I have seen with my generation is the refusal to really step up and start working towards the changes in this country that we so desperately need. We can't just rely on the president to do all the work, its on all of us.
