DTUBE ROCKS STEEM TO MOON!
Fantastic talk, really getting into a depth I haven't heard before and also fascinating how Steemit/Dtube and others are all related but taking different paths; blockchain vs. IPFS, etc ... really starting to understand how everything happening now are just the first steps of a much larger entity that is developing !!
Great opportunity having both of you @ned and @heimindanger on the same screen talking about the future of Steem!
I appreciate that you highlighted copyrights and explained how DMCAs can be handled on the Steem blockchain - that's a really important point, especially seeing the fast growing number of users. Adrien, you're right the community is self-controlling that issue in a certain way, and that will become even more important in the future.
That's it.
Also I think many people share your vision for the next 5 years, Ned. Getting as much as entrepreneurs with their web applications on the Steem blockchain, being supported by SMTs is a big target.
Well said.
I guess all of us will be happy to contribute to that vision in the way we can. Steem on!
I agree about addressing how copyright infringement is handled. There are those who think that DTube is a license to upload copyrighted videos and that they are untouchable because it's decentralized. They are in for a surprise when the major movie studios send them a DMCA takedown notice. Add to the fact that anyone can see how much a video earns so the studios will know exactly how much in damages to sue for.
My "favourite" reply of a user to my question about her take on copyrights was the following. She had covered a song from a famous artist and I asked her about her sync licence which you actually need when performing a song that is not yours in a video. Here we go (get your popcorn ready):
I had to take a deep breath after that one...
We're definitely lacking education in terms of copyright!
She's in for a rude awakening. Her misunderstanding of DTube, copyright laws and the DMCA is frightening and I fear she is just one of many.
My "favourite" that I've seen on YouTube is when someone uploads a complete movie or music video and in the description, they'll write, "no copyright infringement intended, uploaded for educational purposes."
DTube and SteemIt have a huge advantage compared to YouTube, Facebook, Google and Co.. DTube hands out money for videos, comments, upvotes and that is so great. Don't underestimate the people, people will always go there where the money is and the money is at DTube. YouTube and Co aren't known for fair money distribution at DTube is and so DTube can be the next HUGE success story.
Can't agree more :)
This is so true man 👍🏼
Al lot of people don’t realise the potential of steemit yet. But we are the first Steemians so we all should keep going to be sucessful ☺️
good post @bloctalk
your followers too much, how can I be like you?
Actually, cryptocurrency (especially bitcoin) will decrease right now because it becomes more and more popular because of YT and media
