What is Proof Of Work?

Difference Between Proof Of Work and Proof of Stake
There are two main types of consensus mechanisms used by cryptocurrencies: proof of work (PoW) and proof of stake (PoS). Both have their own advantages and disadvantages, and selecting the right one for a particular project is a critical decision.
PoW is the most well-known and widely used consensus mechanism. It is used by major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. This system is designed to be more energy efficient than PoW, as there is no need for miners to run powerful machines.
