My take on how the Blockchain will colonize Mars.

The world is changing, and we are talking about exponential change. If the name Ray Kurzweil sounds familiar to you then you know what I am talking about. Now that the blockchain is changing many industries at a very fast pace, you might wonder what will happen next, once everything has been "blockchained".

Imagine for a second you are sent to colonize Mars ( on Elon Musk's SpaceX ) and you have some free time there when you are done farming martian potatoes. You would like to surf the internet to watch some funny cat videos or learn programming but there would be a problem : the data transfer to and from Earth would take around 6 minutes, which is a no-go for video calls. However, watching videos or texting wouldn't be doable, alas very slow.

Here once again, imagine what the blockchain could bring : a martian distributed network synchronizing with Earth's internet.
You surf the martian web with your laptop, and get data from surrounding devices that contain the blockchain which in turn gets updated instantly with input from Mars, and every X minutes with data from Earth. Also add to the fact you wouldn't need any ISP, just connected devices around you who are able to relay information on the blockchain, practically decentralizing the internet!

This is what I think will happen in the future, and I will even add an extra : quantum entanglement to transfer data instantly between Earth and Mars, but that is still something that remains very theoretical but who knows, maybe it will happen rather sooner than later.
