Open Job Position: Senior Social Media Manager

Spark, the integrated marketing agency, is looking for a freelancer to add to our consulting network, Sparknet, to manage social media strategy and execution at the senior level for both B2B and B2C clients. We are looking for someone with previous social media mangement experience that is able to own a client relationship independently and manage a small team remotely. Spark’s client roster spans a variety of industries, though in the immediate future we are looking for someone with background in FinTech and/or someone who has a passion for the blockchain/crypto-currency space.

This role is a part time freelance opportunity and would report to the Director of Content. Note: the position appears to be located in San Francisco but we are considering applicants worldwide.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary client contact providing strategic counsel and owning weekly client status calls
  • Management of social strategy across key social media channels (e.g., Reddit, Twitter, LinkedIn) and channels frequented by the blockchain community (e.g., Steemit, Telegram, BitcoinTalk, and Slack)
  • Develop social strategies including competitor analysis, content pillars, platform roles, brand voice, tool research and recommendations, and community management protocols
  • Oversee content development process from start to finish working with copywriters and designers, or in some cases independently
  • Ensure content is adapted for distinct brand voices, audiences, platform styles, and is optimized for SEO
    Implement large-scale global community management programs for clients including development of response and escalation protocols, triage plans, training programs for junior staff, and highly detailed FAQs
  • Act as the internal resource for community managers, providing guidance on how and when to respond to users on very fast-paced platforms
  • Develop measurement and reporting plan and manage weekly and/or monthly reporting
  • Support development of multimedia content efforts, such as videos, podcasts, and more
  • Stay on top of the latest social media trends and platform updates and evaluate how changes can/will affect our clients’ social strategies

Requirements:

  • Understanding of content distribution channels for B2B and B2C brands and their associated metrics, specs, best practices, and requirements including media outlets, social media platforms, and ad platforms
  • Expertise in and enthusiasm for social media and community building online, including in-depth knowledge of social media platforms, market trends, best practices, content development and metrics, and tools of the trade
  • Bachelors degree
  • Minimum 2 years of senior management experience in communications, PR, and/or social media
  • Proven competency in taking client needs and creating successful social media strategies and campaigns
  • Previous proven experience managing content and copy for a range of online mediums
  • Strong creative writing, researching, and editing skills
  • Willingness to handle executional work like ongoing content development and community management
  • Flexibility and comfort working with a remote team in a fast-paced, always-on, agency/start-up environment and schedule
  • Superb project and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining constant communication with larger team and clients
