What is Gladius?
DDoS attacks are becoming more and more commonplace with the growth of online businesses, as well as traditional businesses with an increased online presence. Businesses are paying an average of over $5000 a month to protect themselves from such attacks even if they never get attacked. On the other hand, much of the world's computing power and bandwidth is unused. This situation inspired a solution by Gladius.
Gladius makes websites faster and protects them using the Ethereum blockchain. Using a computer’s spare bandwidth, anyone can join a protection pool and start making money by filtering and accelerating traffic. Websites can purchase the services of these pools through a marketplace that creates intense competition creating the best performance at the best prices.
Current Industry
Currently, CDN and DDoS protection is dominated by a few big companies. These companies charge enterprises large sums of money for protection that is often disproportionate to what they need.
With Gladius, users can utilize their unused bandwidth to be a part of a CDN and DDoS protection network. Users would earn, while companies will save.
