The Africa blockchain confrence 2018
God does work in mysterious ways! A friend approached me two weeks before the Africa block chain conference that was held in kampala for two days. From the 23-24 of may,2018. she needed some one to work with on the conference Report.
I was already on my leave so, it was an opportunity to do something totally outside my area of specialty.
I readily agreed to her terms and come 23 of may, we were at the Serena Hotel in kampala.
I did not know anything a bout blockchain, i had no idea that there even existed an association of blockchain in Uganda! The closest i had come to blockchain is steemit...ha ha, where iam also brand new! ha ha.
I am so grateful for that invite from my dearest friend, carol. I had not met people so enthusiastic about tech!
I met them, dined with them and networked..boy oh boy! i learnt a whole lot.
I met terms like artificial Interlligence,(A.I) Internet of things and Big Data. i had honestly never had of these terms....
i realised that blockchain technology would actually go along way in helping Uganda if we embraced it.
i realised it would do away with duplicity in the land registry and the problems of land in Uganda would be no more.
when Leonardo Gamar, the CEO of Agora was speaking i longed for the day when our election results will be managed by blockchain technology.
Jitesh Shetty, cloud Learning technologies, google (USA) made me wish we would embrace blockchain immediately.
Iam so excited to see that all the discussions held that day have started yielding results.....Binance has opened shop in Uganda!
yeei....
In those two days i learnt that blockchain is here to make work faster and easier.
it is here to put our knowledge to the test....so let us move forward and we embrace blockchain technology.
Have yourselves a lovely week, steemians.
