Bitdegree and the revolution of education

One of the newest ICO’s on the block is Bitdegree, a startup company which aims to disrupt Education in a big way. Their team and extensive board of advisers are working to provide a on point education for students and companies using blockchain.

The current education system is slow, costly and not equipped for the needs of today’s economy. With technology changing everyday companies need employees who are up to date and have the specific skills that match the job. This is a big problem for students as well as for companies. Students spend thousands of dollars on education and courses that may be obsolete by the time they are finished. And at the other side firms are spending thousands of dollars in recruitment.

A recent article in the undercover recruiter projected that the cost of hiring new personal in the UK through an recruitment agency will cost a company around £5,000. And the cost of training about £1,000 per employee.

Bitdegree wants to solve this problem, by taking another approach to education all together. Companies will develop education courses with Bitdegree to meet their needs. Students who participate and start learning will be paid for targets they accomplish. Using Smartcontracts, they can get smart incentives and be paid in the ecosystems native token BDG. Companies will get to see the progress and get in contact with students that they think will be perfect for a position at their company.

I believe this is the most original approach to education to date, making education more accessible at a global scale so everyone will reap the benefits of the modern economy.

Bitdegree also had Robert Santana former Senior project manager from the popular online learning platform Coursera joining their team.
