Unification & Hintchain: Data Marketplace for the Food Industry

When we assist whether a start-up has the potential to breakthrough or not, one factor that we take a look is on its partnership. A strong partnership increases the success percentage of a project, and we can apply the same principle when we asset cryptocurrency start-up. Previously, we've talked about Unification. In this article, we'll discuss the partnership of Hintchain and Unification, and how this partnership can contribute to the success of Unification.

Hintchain 101

To put it simply, Hintchain is a platform that wants to connect food consumers and food producers. It aims to fix the fragmented food market that doesn't provide an effective way for food producers to get what the market really wants, and food consumers can't get what they really wanted to eat. In other words, Hintchain is a platform to collect food consumers data, from their diet behavior, age profile, etc, and then make this data available to food producers.

Hintchain will help food producers to get consumers data efficiently and effectively, saving a lot of money for other actions such as research and development. On the other hand, consumers can enjoy lots of benefits from the platform such as discounts, full control of their diet data and so on. On top of that, Hintchain already has a big userbase, around 10 million and most of them come from South Korean users which as we know, generally have a big interest in cryptocurrency.

Unification & Hintchain Partnership

Unification has established a partnership with Hintchain, which has been confirmed by Hintchain on their website and their Telegram group too. The details of the partnership have not been described explicitly, but Hintchain refers to Unification as a data marketplace platform. Judging by this information, at least Hintchain will use Unification data marketplace service.

Assuming that Hintchain will use Babel (or in general, integrate their service with Unification data marketplace), this means that:

  • Hintchain end users will be able to sell data to other parties, such as health foundation, university research, and so on which requires their diet behavior.
  • Hintchain food producers will be able to sell their product statistics (which product sold the most, who bought their product, consumers demographic, etc) to other parties, such as a university, government foundation and so on who requires data from the food industry for their specific purpose.
  • Hintchain will enjoy seamless integration with Unification data marketplace platform, therefore they don't have to undergo massive upgrade or code rewrite which takes time and can disturb their roadmap.



This fragmented food industry will be connected by Hintchain, and their data can be bought or sold via Unification data marketplace.

  • In theory, Unification data marketplace will indirectly service more than 10 million end users (excluding the food producers) when they go live. This is a great number for a start-up which could increase the demands for the tokens.
  • Research universities, health foundation or other parties who need food industry data will be able to use the Unification marketplace to directly access the data that they need, buy it and then use it without excessive fees.

Those are several benefits from Hintchain and Unification partnership, which will also give benefits for end users and other stakeholders. This partnership is good, and we should expect that this will increase the success opportunity of Unification and Hintchain.
