The Blockchain Revolution: A Deep Philosophical and Practical Examination of Blockchain
I wanted you guys to be some of the first people I told about this really deep dive into blockchain -- since Steemit is basically "ground zero" for discussions on this topic. I learned a lot talking to the two highly informed gentlemen you'll see in this long form open-ended discussion.
The YouTube Live video below gets into blockchain, not just from a cryptocurrency perspective, but also looks at how it will effect the economy, education, politics, technology, governance and society. Plus, there are many structural and philosophical observations. And, there are some keen projections for eager speculators.
Some good questions that came up include; 1.) how can a national treasury function if there is no agreed upon system of taxation for income derived from crypto? 2.) how can one establish credit in an unregulated blockchain environment? 3.) If we figure out a way to establish credit, is there also a way to figure out financing and interest rates? 4.) can a fluctuating commodity also be used as a stable form of currency? 5.) Is there an algorythmic way to redistribute wealth so that we empower a heretofore un-empowered group of thinkers and creatives? 6.) Is there something deep within the code of the universe that prevents us from radically shifting how systems operate, i.e. the class system or the tendency for the rich to get richer and hold power, or will blockchain massively shift us into an altogether new paradigm?
And, it goes way, way deeper than that. It's easier to just watch the video. Thanks, and let me know if you have ideas for future YouTube live sessions.
