Blockstack: Will it be successful in the long run?
If you haven't heard of Blockstack, it is an open source "new internet" for decentralized apps, where users own their own data. At this point there are not too many apps that are available for download, but they are constantly being added.
I heard about Blockstack a awhile ago while researching blockchain technology for a work report, and it really peaked my interest. After reading their whitepapers and looking around, I decided to create an account and install the program. So far, as previously mentioned, there isn't much too it. But the idea behind it is intriguing and they just raised $50 million through the sale of 440 million tokens. I was able to get in on the ground level and obtain a voucher for later use, but I'm not sure if those are still available.
Has anyone else looked into Blockstack, by chance? If so, do you think it will be able to survive in a blockchain era becoming increasingly busy and convoluted?
