Swiss "Crypto Valley" tests use of Blockchain in municipal voting system

Blockchain technology and crypto-currencies are gaining acceptance around the world. The latest news, the municipality of Zug, or the epicenter of the "Crypto Valley" will use Blockchain to make its voting system more transparent.

A conference of the city of Zug, also known as the "Swiss Crypto Valley", will bring together the biggest academics and businessmen of the cryptocurrency industry. As part of the conference, the local media Swissinfo.ch recently reported Zug's participation in a political-electoral pilot project. The municipal voting pilot project using Blockchain technology is a first for Switzerland. The votes will take place between June 25 and July 1, 2018. Citizens will also have to decide on the possible need of the Blockchain in the Swiss voting system.

Also, the private financial institution Hypothekarbank Lenzburg, became the first Swiss bank to provide its service to companies related to digital currencies.
