Why I Choose to Be Blockchain Agnostic.
Do You Believe 100% in One Blockchain? Free Your Mind Today!
Everyday across our majestic Crypto Universe I see tribes of Devs, Users and Investors claiming that their chosen Blockchain is the best. These tribes flex their prowess by demeaning and tearing down the other tribes Blockchain. I understand humans have a history of tribalism that reaches back to our humble beginnings. I also understand that this path also leads to destructive behavior.
I am so jaded by all of this talk!
No, I am not a developer. I am just a simple guy who loves the possibility of what Blockchain can do for humanity. Except for Ripple, I don't believe they should be included in our Crypto space.
- I am no Bitcoin Maximalist.
- I don't think Steem is the shiniest Blockchain in the space.
- Ethereum is not the only path.
- EOS is not the Blockchain savior.
- I did not drink the Tron Kool-Aid.

So I implore you to keep an open mind and look at other possibilities. Just because you are a Developer on a specific project does not make you somehow superior to those who work on other projects. If you invest your hard earned money into a project and you are hoping for future riches it does not mean you have to attack others.
Being Crypto Agnostic Keeps Me Sane.
Making friends across the Crypto space allows me to see the scope of what we are doing. I have friends in many projects and whenever someone starts talking smack about other projects I try to shift the conversation.
I still have opinions and I will still express them if I am involved in a project. A few times I found myself pulled into internal strife within projects (Steem) and I quickly shifted my focus. Staying happy is the ultimate goal and arguing across the internet with people I will likely never meet is an exercise in futility.
100% agree, but I also take it one step further.
Diversify your blockchain portfolio as well as your fiat portfolio. There's no reason why you should have one or the other. Have both.
For sure, diversifying is by far the best strategy although I would be much wealthier if I went all in on Steem back in the day.
Only if you chose when to sell properly. ;-)
I used to have over 50,000. Our Steem Holdings are much more meager now. We did quite well.
I try to keep an open mind but it is easy to get sucked in to believe coin is the savior we are waiting for.
Xrp and Tron I dont like because of the community (one reason) others I like because of the community.
Halo and Steem are some coins I have high hopes for example
But if any coin is conquering a new space it is a win for the whole blockchain space. Even for example walton and Vet doing similar things if they each bring new partners into the space it is a win.
What we will have in 20 years no one can say. As much as probably not many people could see how the internet will change the world
I am all over Halo. They have some great news coming soon. I will be the one to deliver it. ; )
are you working with them?
I called my nodes own island and own country so I have high hopes. Hope the games coming out soon
I have my own project being built on Halo but I can't say what it is exactly yet. My nodes have saved my butt during this bear market. I currently take my rewards and buy Steem a few times a week.
Looking forward to the reveal then.
Yeah the nodes are a great help for me as well. Playing rent and bringing some uncooked Ramen noodles on the table 😀.
Kind of sucks selling at those prices but cant pay the bills by telling people they need to wait because not moon or lambo yet.

Agreed, no reason to be all for one chain. I love BTC and it will always be king but I believe in other projects as well. Since they all seem to move in conjunction with each other, we should simply hope for crypto to succeed as a whole.
As of today, neither am I...Praise God!...how freeing...lol...
I actually sold some to buy shares in a couple of stable coins...XRP and USDT specifically...anything to jazz things up a bit. BTC has been bouncing in a similar space for too long...makes me want to say 'do some....thing....'lol
Peace.
The road is full of ups and downs ahead but one thing is for sure it will lead to a new glory : )
I too am blockchain agnostic. A healthy amount of discipline and critical thinking are needed to wade the shitcoin waters though... Thanks for sharing your thoughts @hilarski!

when you mean those tribal fight based on opinions (which are like xxxxxxxx because every one has one) then this is a waste of time. Because like in soccer or football: in the end you will see which one is the better team, simply put your money where your mouth is.
But why comparing EOS to Ethereum at all? Both have nothing in comon despide the fact, that people use the fantasy word "Blockchain" (which isnt even mentioned in the white paper...because it does make no sense) to describe them.
Or for example above in the comment it is mentioned, that one should diversify ... which is by the very definition of diversification not possible in a highly correlated asset class. Because diversification is a strategy to reduce volatility of the whole portfolio and refers to allocation into uncorrelated asset classes. Those are facts and discussing respectfull is not fighting
