30-Year-Old Son Refuses To Move Out Of Parent’s House So They Have Judge Teach Him A Lesson

Usually, a teenager who’s old enough to move out of Mom and Dad’s house waste no time in fleeing the coop. In this case, however, it’s the parents who are desperately trying to claim their empty nest.

Christina and Mark Rotondo live in Camillus, New York — and for the past eight years, their 30-year-old son has refused to move out.

The fed-up couple have sent Michael five notices in the attempt to motivate him to leave. But with no job and a broken car, Michael has stayed put much to his parent’s dismay.

“Michael, after a discussion with your Mother, we have decided that you must leave this house immediately,” one notice read. “You have 14 days to vacate. You will not be allowed to return. We will take whatever actions are necessary to enforce this decision,” stated the next.

11 days and four more notes later, Christina and Mark threatened legal action. They even offered Michael $1,100 to help him find a place to stay. Nothing seemed to sweeten the pot.

Michael claims his parents are legally required to give him six months’ notice to leave — and that he’s “never been expected to contribute to household expenses, or assisted with chores and the maintenance of the premises.”

With nowhere left to turn, Christina and Mark took their case to the state supreme court, letting its reigning judge decide Michael’s fate.

Let’s just say the stubborn son isn’t happy about the judge’s decision…
