Getting started and earning money with cryptos - free tokens (part 2)

in #blockchain7 years ago

This is a follow up on part 1 here:
https://www.minds.com/newsfeed/837704484619747328
In that article I talked about some free and easy ways of getting crypto tokens without having to buy them. Here are some updates to the services that I mentioned:
Presearch - here is an updated referral link - https://www.presearch.org/signup?rid=111165
This will get you points for searching, which are translated into tokens, which you can cash in when they make that function available in June (details in the previous article, and their web site)

Super Candy - This one is another service which allows you to earn 50,000 candy tokens by signing up, but no way to transfer them out yet (unlike the other Candy site which has a link to an exchange called big.one which lets you cash in)
http://supertoken100.com/i/219174
In order to use this service, you have to right click on the site, and chose "translate to english", (unless you read chinese) These tokens cannot be transferred out yet.

Airdrops
The next thing I will talk about is airdrops. For this you will need a web 3 wallet which supports ERC20 tokens. I am using a wallet called Eidoo, which works very well for me (https://eidoo.io/). You can install either the desktop or the mobile version. I received a few airdrops just by owning the wallet (ex. Tron, Vin, Vio). They just showed up there one day automatically. The ones that had a market value (not all of them did yet) were worth a few dollars each.
There are lots of Etherium wallets out there, for different purposes, but another interesting one to watch out for is Ethos:
http://ethos.io/universal-wallet
Their wallet is supposed to be released in the next couple of weeks, and will have a number of airdrops included.

Here are some links to additional airdrops - personally I don't find these as good. You will have to perform some tasks like joining their telegram, twitter, and facebook groups, and you won;t get the coins until the ICO period s over. You will also have to give them your PUBLIC etherium address which you can get from your wallet. (Never give anyone your PRIVATE wallet address or key, since that has the rights to withdraw funds).

Social networks
Decentralised Social networks allow you to earn tokens by curating and contributing content, (You can find info and reviews on Presearch):
Steemit.com
Minds.com
Yours.org
There are many others that are smaller players, and many more on the way, but this is enough to get started. Each one has their own strengths and weaknesses, and rules on how to use and earn. The one that is the most mature at this point is Steemit. It isn't perfect (I find the mobile client to be better than the web one), but they have a lot of users, and apparently, there is a new version 2 coming out when the EOS platform goes into live production in June/July. All of them seem to have better privacy controls than facebook for example, are more transparent than the centralised ones, no ads, and you could even earn some money if you have a lot of followers. As far as I am concerned, this is the future of social media.

Another interesting project is called "Social Media Income". - https://socialmediaincome.com/
You can earn tokens by performing tasks on the popular centralised social meda platforms like facebook. But there is no way to transfer the tokens out yet.

You might also want to check out the "Brave" web browser. It is a fork of Chrome, and blocks all ads by default - https://brave.com/ They will give you some free tokens which you can use to "tip" good content providers.

Conclusion
The last few ways that I know of getting free coins are faucets, resource sharing, (like storage or CPU cycles), and proof of stake mining. I won't go into proof of work mining since it is more complicated, and usually requires special hardware. I will talk about the other methods in part 3, and then we can start getting into crypto trading in part 4. I will try and keep it simple for the beginning trader, or people just getting started with crypto-currencies.

Please let me know if you are finding this series of articles useful. Thanks

@therealwolf 's created platform smartsteem scammed my post this morning (mothersday) that was supposed to be for an Abused Childrens Charity. Dude literally stole from abused children that don't have mothers ... on mothersday.
