Australia's competition watchdog has accused Facebook's parent company, Meta, of allowing a staggering number of fraudulent crypto ads to proliferate on its platform.

Preliminary research suggests over half of crypto ads on Facebook are either scams or violate Meta's policies.

The watchdog is taking legal action against Meta, alleging the company knowingly allowed these deceptive ads to harm consumers, while reaping financial benefits.
