Sir Richard Branson's Third Annual #Blockchain Summit On His Private Island Nector kicks off
Sir Richard Branson and the Bitfury Group are hosting another ‘exclusive’ bitcoin and blockchain retreat on Branson’s private Necker Island. The third annual Blockchain Summit will feature a host of cryptocurrency and blockchain industry luminaries.
The ambitious agenda explores how blockchain technology can be applied in everything from economic empowerment to identity, music, conservation, ocean protection — with the latter three especially fitting topics, given Branson’s work in music and conservation and others. Many attendees were keen to discuss on how to use crypto tokens to create social good such as reducing air pollution.
Many large organizations are adopting blockchain technology like IBM, JPMorgan Chase, Microsoft, Visa and Intel, while non-governmental organizations such as the World Economic Forum, World Bank and the International Monetary Fund are exploring or even testing its possibilities.
