Unconventional cross collar choke from the back control

in #bjj7 years ago (edited)

This is a cross collar choke from the back I have been working on the last 3 years. Master Flavio Behring and his wisdom on bloodchokes was the inspiration for this technique.

Here are some information about how to set it up:

  1. Control the back properly.
  2. With the underhook hand sneakily grab the opposite lapel and feed it to the over arm. (with your under arm you can grab the wrist on your choking arm so it looks like you are going for an armbar aswell)
  3. Swing your body in an armbar-from-the-back-like move and lift the elbow of the choking arm so his head can pass underneath your arm.
  4. Swing your choking arm back down and slide your wrist next to his neck.

By now you should be already able to finish your opponent choking him out without putting a second hand on but for 100% assurance you are going to go one step further.

Here are the second hand and finishing details :

  1. Your second arm goes over the choking hand and grabs the same lapel you are holding with the choking hand right under your opponents ear.
  2. Try to bring your elbows to your hip bones.
  3. With your top forearm push the back of his head right in to the choke.
  4. Pull your weight up from the floor so he feels all the pressure.
  5. Pull with your back muscles and twist your wrists like you are doing a normal cross collar choke from the front.

If your have seen this choke again and now the name of it or some more information about how to execute and finish it please let me know.As always have fun with it,try it out and share some feedback. Help me find out why it doesn't work and why it can be stopped easily.
