This side control escape series is changing my game.steemCreated with Sketch.

I've been playing around with this for a few weeks and I have had a lot of success with it. This sequence is unlike anything I've seen from the bottom of this position. It's SUPER versatile. It allows you re-guard, it allows you to enter ashi-garami where you can threaten heel-hooks and kneebars, and it allows you to escape to the front headlock where you can attack with a gulliotine or anaconda choke. This has become my go-to movement when my guard has been passed. Check out all 3 videos in the series. Let me know how it works for you

Thanks for checking me out. Keep up the good fight!

Interesting, I don't think I've seen this before. I'm not sure how many people would keep the hands clasped and not just stay on your back... I'm assuming the other 3 videos cover those scenarios.

@bjjworldtraveler thoughts?

The other 2 videos in the sequence cover that. If you can't get the sweep from the first video, you can usually a tweak uke's knee and create enough space to duck under the seatbelt and land in outside ashi.

Or if he attempts to step-over to take the back and doesn't keep the hands clasped 110% You can still make this work:

Video three covers how you can use this to set up the back-door escape. When Uke tries to counter your hook.

Obviously no escape works 100% of the time, and it's better to not get passed in the first place haha.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing the other two. I'm gonna test these out :)

De nada. I tend to hit it as a reguard after a failed elbow escape. Your mileage may vary 😉

Nice escape!
