My first match at Worlds 2016steemCreated with Sketch.

Jiujitsu opens up some strange pursuits of freedom. I found that with the added confidence I acquired with jiujitsu I dared dream a little more and most importantly pursue those dreams. Falling down and failing constantly, struggling and ultimately triumph, when learning a new technique. Breeds confidence. It makes taking risks not so bad in my experience. After all  in bjj we practice being uncomfortable regularly, and that hopefully translates into life outside gym. I wish most people had that practice of being uncomfortable and triumphant.

Here is me at my most triumphant, I lost in the second round of masters worlds. I am actually not talking about my competition, I’m talking about the chance I took to travel across USA.

Stay alone in  a Las Vegas hotel and compete alone.  I’m proud of that. It was a  fun match and great time got to meet Kurt Ossiander and have seminar with some real legends and meet allot of bjj people.

I want to and will return. Please let me know what you guys think and know I plan to post my losses as well and whitebelt days to show and learn from your critique and comments.

Oss ! Move a muscle , change a thought.

I checked out your video and followed you. That looked like a hard fought match

It was I have to start working on finishing faster... I am on smaller side of my division, definitely not as strong as most medium heavyweights I noticed. But I found a way ... thanks brother !

I know what you mean. Some tournaments I've been in didn't have competitors in my weight class so I had to fight up a weight class. I agree you have to find a way. Sometimes 5 minute rounds feel like a lifetime and sometimes they feel like 5 seconds.

You win or you learn. Such a simple an universal lesson I learned directly from Jiu Jitsu.

Which fighter are you?

The grip fighting at the beginning is fantastic and it looked to come down to a couple good Judo throws as the ground game really was even.

Osiander is a solid dood and you REALLY stepped out there to attempt something 99.9% of people would not.

Honoured to know another world class athlete.....this time through Steem-it!

OOOOSSSA!

I’m the Afro Swede :-)

Congrats on the win! 😁

Thank you... I followed you and look forward to more posts of your journey in bjj

Nice little hip bump at the start. I kept thinking you were going to make him nose dive with a snap down and then take his back but you seemed to control the match well. You looked fairly comfortable and I could definitely see the gears turning. Did you set him up for that beautiful throw near the end because that was smooth?! Great job and thanks for the post. I enjoyed watching it.

Thank you, he actually just tried to take my back and I been working on that throw, Harai- Goshi for a while. It’s a favorite, he was in right position...

I am sorry to say that ... but it not worlds looks like that is world master ...:)

Yes you are completely right. Somehow I did some wishful thinking in that I thought people would look at my age and understand that I was talking about Master Worlds. I should have clarified that.
Thank you

You are the man Ossss
