Bittrex Assistance Needed!

I have an account with Bittrex but do not understand how to use the exchange. Given the fall in crypto prices across the board, I'm wanting to take advantage and buy in before the price goes higher!
I'm hoping to buy some other types of crypto but unsure how to go about this in Bittrex. Am I able to deposit funds into my account and then buy crypto with this (like with Coinbase) or have I got to convert crypto to BTC within Coinbase and then send to Bittrex?
I have a Kraken account also but they have still not verified me - hence I can not deposit into their exchange!
Very frustrated!!!
Please can someone send me some step by step instructions!!!

@dasczecher, Bittrex user here. If you already have an account there, this is what you should do. You should already have bitcoin available for deposit too.
Step1: Go to 'Wallet', found on the upper right-hand corner.
Step2: Search for Bitcoin
Step3: Click on the + sign beside Bitcoin
Step4: Generate new bitcoin address.
Step5: Send BTC to this address. Wait for BTC to show under 'Available'. In sending, it would initially show under 'Pending', this means the transaction has entered the blockchain but has not completed confirmation yet. It will be under 'Available' once confirmation has been complete and you can then use the funds.
Once you have available btc, you are ready to buy other coins!
Step6: Go to 'Wallet', now search for the coin you want to puchase. Ex search for 'Steem'
Step7: Click on the blue hyperlink for steem. This takes you to the trading screen.
Step8: Scroll down and find the Buy section.
Now for buying, you can either set the price you want to buy it for and wait for a seller to match your price or for immediate buy,
Step9: Scroll down and view the 'Ask' section. You may opt to use the lowest ask price and facilitate immediate buy.

So you have confirmed what I suspected. I cannot add funds i.e via credit card or debit card into the exchange.
