Bitstamp has announced the appointment of a new CEO

The Bitstamp cryptocurrency exchange has confirmed the resignation of Julian Sawyer from the post of CEO. His place will be taken by Jean-Baptiste Graftier, according to the company's website.

In October 2021, Sawyer replaced Neich Kodrich as CEO of the exchange. According to a press release, after 18 months of work, he "decided to use other opportunities."

From November 2014 to February 2016, Graftier served as Bitstamp's director of regulatory compliance, according to his LinkedIn profile. In 2021, after a five-year period at eBay, he returned as CEO of the exchange for the European region.

"We are pleased to welcome a CEO with such an impressive track record and very much look forward to the contribution and prospects he will bring to the company in a new role," the statement said.

According to CoinGecko, at the time of writing, Bitstamp ranks 20th among the largest cryptocurrency exchanges.
