The Bitshares State of the Network Reports seeks to combine raw data from a wide range of metrics and combine them into meaningful information to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares network.

This weeks report lacks some details due to Cryptofresh data being re-indexed after the Bitshares patch released the day prior to my data collection. I hope to have a full report as normal next week. Any affected data has been removed and to make up for it i have included a few more pictures and videos.

I am slowly building up some exposure to BTS because the need for decentralised exchanges and coins with Real Life Applications attached to them are very much needed (and a potential value magnet in the future). I think BitShares could benefit from a strong and continuing marketing campaign and continuous development of the UI and number of tokens/coins supported. My immediate concern in this respect is that the UI for deposit/withdrawal is still somewhat technical and difficult to follow for non-tech savvy people.

@stan is working of some marketing for the Billion Hero Campaign which will include some exposure for Bitshares it self, but agree we need to get the word out more. Bitshares community is known for no hype and smart people quietly building and improving the platform but not for its marketing prowess.

Deposits BTS is easy you just use your alias/accountname (no need for cryptic addresses), its just a send transaction, but the deposit/withdraw page (used for interaction with the bridges and gateways) is a little confronting at first.. JonnyBitcoin is actually looking for input as to how we can reduce the complexity and make it more intuitive (HERE). Also agree the UI is very powerful and flexible but we could benefit from sole role specific wallets and platforms.

Thanks for the comments

Great work on these weekly reports, keep them coming! :D

Appreciate the kind words CM, Thank you :)

I love these... You know I could stare at this post all day and marvel over the stuff in it.

My favorite is the "Graphene Infosystem" logo / infographic.

It really shows you how deep and wide spread Bitshares is..

I know you love data analysis and critical thinking so i can imagine your mind racing while pouring over the data :)

The Ecosystem pic might be a little bit outdated now but it is still great to get an idea how big this Graphene space is!

Yes. :) Just Yes. :)

Upvoted and resteemed :) good content as always. cheers man

PS: i'm doing raw recording every friday if you use it consider to put my link you can find its on @africa :)

Thanks @africa

I love the raw recordings! it is a great effort on your part to have these available in such a small time frame!

Great post,so much information and very helpful indeed.

Thanks for the detailed update. I think I need to get into Bitshares. What coin should I buy though?

Really depends on what you want to get out of it..

  • BTS is the core tokens and should rise in value as the adoption of the platform increases
  • HERO is a smartcoin pegged to the USD (w/ 5% p/a interest/growth) so will give you value stability
  • OBITS is the native token of OpenLedger and has some interesting opportunities

Beside those options there are many other tokens on the platform that all have their own value proposition

Thanks @steempower for sharing these updates of a great DEX platform.. Bitshares Rocks!

BitsharesDEX username: hms818

Thanks HMS, i agree Bitshares.rocks

so if i have obits in my bitshares account do I get the sharedrops? Or do I need to move them to openledger?

Yes you can hold in either and get the sharedrops.

Openledger is just a business (with it own UI) that runs on top of bitshares. So if you use bitshares native wallet or openledger they both use the same bitshares blockchain

Thank you sir, so anything that needs to be done besides holding the coins in there to get share drops?! And did I read right that half goes to sharedrops, and half to burning coins right now because that's what everyone voted for? Or did I get something wrong?

im newbie in crypto , your post is very helpful , thank you for sharing
