RE: Centralized Exchanges Finally Spot the Incoming SEC Asteroid

in #bitshares7 years ago

Hey @stan, this whole story got me really confused. I'm not at all versed in the legal financial mumbo-jumbo so it's pretty hard on my brain. How is bitshares a security and other coins are not? Doesn't it mean that all the other exchanges (like polo) will delist bts too pretty soon? Wouldn't it be the death of bts if the only place to trade them is the dex? Does it mean that soon the SEC will ban all the ICOs except the ones that go on the compliant platforms? Isn't it logical to assume that all the cryptofans that dream of new world without banks and governments will think that "SEC compliant" = "under government's heel"? Aren't you worried about the effects of all of the above on the upcoming marketing campain that you are planning?

I would be very glad to know your opinion on this stuff.
Thanks in advance

None of the things you are worried about are true. The Bittrex Mistake will impact them far more than BitShares. The first step is to get the TXSRB recognized as the global authority for crypto. Then it can fight effectively for the principals we all cherish.

Can you explain more about this SEC ELE and what it might look like and how far away you think it is likely to be?

i think you make a good point.
