RE: Coin Wallet Guide on How to Set Up 25 Popular Wallets
Hi Stan. I've had trouble with the new download of the bitshares wallet. My wallet worked great until I downloaded the new version. Now McAfee quarantines a file from it and the only way it works is if I shut off McAfee, restart my computer and then re-try downloading. I get it all set up and working fine and then when McAfee comes back online, same thing it quarantines the same file and I have to turn off McAfee, redownload, etc
Have you tried using the online exchange at www.bitshares.org
As someone who works with Windows computers every day, it is my opinion that McAfee is the problem in this scenario. Consider getting rid of it and using a different anti-virus. Windows Defender is included with Windows 10 and it works well.
However, if you are serious about crypto-currencies, I highly recommend that you use an alternative operating system. Windows is so insecure, that I wouldn't feel comfortable having information about my crypto on it. It's not that the wallets are insecure, but if you keep notes or data about your crypto on the Windows system, it is vulnerable.
I highly recommend Linux. You can even run it on a Virtual Machine (like VirtualBox) from within Windows.
