The Whaleshares on Bitshares Exchange....they can later be used to power up and also convert to whalestak...right? So accumulating the current Whaleshares should be ok for future powerup? thx!

No. The classic WHALESHARE tokens have nothing to do with the WLS/WHALESTAKE on the new platform.
Those tokens are being retired as they are sent in for claiming and setting up new accounts.
