RE: Advertisement proposal for Bitshares (BTS) (Known as The Decentralized Exchange-DEX)
What are your plans for tracking? How will you determine the effectiveness of your ad campaign or the media outlets you use?
IMHO if you want to fund adverts from the BTS reserve pool such as through a worker proposal, you should have a plan to evaluate the effectiveness of your ads and the media outlets you advertise in.
Thanks for taking the initiative. Lots of people think they can get results from their ad-hoc / amateur efforts, but without a plan and good metrics any positive results you might achieve are not very likely to be repeatable or allow you to adjust your campaign based on metrics.
You can't really measure results of marketing unless your marketing is solely referals/affiliates. You can't measure results because correlation is not causation.
First time that happened. My reply took forever to post and finally failed. Lost the entire thing.
Bottom line is you can get useful info about which media channels bring the best return and which adverts are the most effective. Without measurable feedback you might as well be a blind boxer hoping each swing of your fists will connect.
beg to differ ~A well thought out and designed campaign will be to onboard people signing up to Bitshares accounts. That means an ad where people click, and arrive at a landing page. At that landing page they will spend some time to explore, and sign up there and then or possibly later; for which follow up is required and managed via cookie/capture/opt-in etc.
Every click and signup is measurable in a professionally run SEM campaign.
