What is Bitshares?

Bitshares is an industrial-grade blockchain machine that is now using the words  "financial smart contract platform" because that is the cool thing to do now.

It is easier for financial institutions to consider a Bitshares 2.0 platform, as this platform supports a number of key financial use cases that banks do not need.
