Hello Steemians!
This is the part where I will be discussing the most recent upgrades on the #bitocintalk ! They made lot of changes since they started and this is an attempt to create the thoughtful forum with high quality. They have also taken the serious actions on the forum members who are not in line with the quality of posts, their behaviour on the forum itself etc.
The new system that will practically improve the forum is called as Merit System.
The merit system is protocol which allots every user on the forum specific amount of sMerit which is called as Spendable Merits. These merits can be given to other members as quality mark for their posts or contributions to the forum. This gives the poster some motivation and it also gradually increases the rank for such people. His way they can easily stand out from the crowd and we can see whose the best here.
Furthermore, this is helping campaign managers to choose the right person for their signature campaigns or campaigns where quality people are needed. ”The higher the merits, the higher the quality”.
So with this new upgraded feature forum profiles have got additional characteristic of merits. Before this change was made the forum use to be different. The ranking system was merely dependent upon the different algorithm which considered time spent on the forum, posts made (with or without quality). Now it also considers merit and the different requirements are provided in the forum. The snapshot of requirements goes as follows...

It is clear from the information above that we will need huge efforts to be taken to get higher ranks. However this is really easy stuff if you look after your posting habits.
There are many threads being created using which you can actually make quality post or improve yourself. So though the new system might just look little tougher but it’s not in the reality.
Few key points to remember about the sMERIT are,
- Storing the merits won’t help you
- There is 30 day limit to spend all your sMERIT.
- If you don’t spend sMERIT then you won’t receive any sMERIT next month.
- Giving away merit to quality poster is advisable but spending it wisely is more important.
I hope this guide will help to those people who are new on the #bitcointalk #forum and finding hard time to get higher ranks. The higher rank is great importance because trust and earning sources are build upon that one.

Also these days I am getting very busy with my own merit. I am also helping new comers to earn merits but only if they are able to qualify the whole thing. Other wise there wont be any good use of the merit system.
That’s good you are looking after the merit system like that way. I’m concerned about black market too. I mean might be literally selling the merits and I’m against such people and willingness to find them and show to DT Member at forum.

I left the BCT long ago for this reason only.
But anyway if you are good at what you do then there is no problem in using it and earning from it.

I think merit system is good approach for the new comers. Because most of the time these people dont think about the forum as professional approach and make it look like weird one. So hopefully this will help it. Good post.
Yes it has made the forum more or less very professional as compared to what we saw in previous chapter. Also, the change can be seen now a days and the account farming has stopped almost completely.

Totally agreed. However there are similar threads made into forum itself. Im also looking for some good outputs which will increase my post quality. It has become really really hard to work on campaigns with low payment along with high quality.
It’s not about payments really and forum was not made for that purpose. Forum is just for sharing the knowledge but there was one person who brought the idea of signature campaigns which later on become very popular.
