One of the worst trade stories ever
Found this story on reddit:
I bought 69 coins in December when zcl was trading at 0.006 btc.
I held all the way until a few days before the fork and I sold at 0.0135 btc to buy back in at a lower price.
I doubled my one whole years salary investment.
I believed in btcp so much that I was willing to put in this much.
When bittrex announced support on the day of the fork I bought 100 zcl coins thinking I I could sell them fast on bittrex and make a profit from selling my zcl and then holding btcp.
My order didn’t fully go through so I had 80 coins and the order only completed AFTER the snapshot. So I bought 20 coins whilst everyone was dumping and then sold all 100 coins at 0.001 at the lowest zcl price before it rose again to 0.0035
I now have 80 btcp stuck on bittrex.
I got so depressed that I quit my job. This has only made my situation worse.
If I had sold at the top I would have got out at 1.3 btc but now all I have is 0.1btc and 80 coins I can’t access.
I writing this to help people understand that it could be worse for them.
I don’t understand how the segwit issue was kept secret or why bittrex thinks they can hold onto my coins.
That's devastating. For people who understand how things move, it must be easier to face this. On the other hand, for a new person in the neighborhood like me, It's something that could drive me crazy.
Better to sit still then lose it all
What a horrible story, but you try and time the market at your own risk.
Sounds like he broke the golden rule of only investing what you can afford to lose.
Why would you go on and quite your job afterwards.
