Bitcoin Cash Now Accepted on Wikipedia
Wikipedia has been accepting Bitcoin payments since July 2014 through Coinbase but recently switched to Bitpay and has used the new partnership to add Bitcoin Cash.
The world’s leading online encyclopedia, Wikipedia has added Bitcoin Cash to its donation options in a partnership with Bitpay, a renowned cryptocurrency payment processor.
Wikipedia has had a long-standing relationship with cryptocurrency donations dating back to 2014 when the site started accepting Bitcoin payments.
Pat Pena, the director of payments and operations at Wikimedia Foundation sighted interest by donors to pay in other cryptocurrencies of the reason for the Bitcoin Cash addition.
Our donors have shown an increased interest for different cryptocurrencies, so accepting Bitcoin cash was a natural next step. We accept donations globally, and we strive to provide a large variety of donation options. It’s very important that we can get international donations processed in ways that are efficient and cost-effective.
