Easiest Way to Split Your Bitcoin Cash Forked Coins (BCH & BSV)
On November 15th 2018, Bitcoin Cash (BCH) had a hard fork, which resulted in the creation of a new separate coin called Bitcoin SV (BSV).
On the hard fork date, people who had Bitcoin Cash in their software & hardware wallets were credited with new Bitcoin SV coins, in a 1:1 ratio.
In this article, I will describe the easiest way to find & split your BCH & BSV coins, so they can be traded separately.
Bitcoin Cash (BCH). Also known as BCHABC on some exchanges.
Bitcoin SV (BSV). Also known as BCHSV on some exchanges.
Easiest Way:
Just send your unsplit BCH coins from your wallet (Bitcoin.com Wallet, Blockchain.com Wallet, Exodus Wallet, etc) to CoinEx.com, in one transaction, and they will auto-split your coins. You will then see both your BCH & BSV coins on CoinEx, where they can be traded. After 30 confirmations (~5 hours), they can be withdrawn.
CoinEx registration is quick. They just need an email address (you don't have to give your name, address, ID, or any KYC/AML info). CoinEx is also owned by mining giant ViaBTC, so they're not going anywhere.
If you had unsplit BCH coins, then the above method should work, and you should be done.
BSV Coins Didn’t Show Up?
If your BSV coins did NOT show up at CoinEx, then you’ll have to manually send them over.
Use Mark Lundeberg’s Electron Cash “Coin Splitter” version.
Import your seed words into Electron Cash “Coin Splitter” version. File > New Wallet > Standard Wallet > “I already have a seed” > (Enter Seed Words) > Options > BIP39 [checked] > Next > derivation path.
The derivation path will probably either be m/44'/0'/0' or m/44'/145'/0' . If one doesn’t work, then try the other.
Derivation path: m/44'/0'/0' (Bitcoin.com wallet, Bitpay Wallet, Blockchain Wallet);
Derivation path: m/44'/145'/0' (Electron Cash Wallet, Exodus Wallet, Coinomi Wallet).
Derivation path: m/0' (BRD Bread Wallet)
Then go Tools > Network > Right-click the BSV Network (“1d9…”) > “Follow This Branch”.
If you’re having trouble seeing the BSV branch (“1d9..”), try manually choosing a BSV server. Tools > Network > Server. Then right-click & choose a BSV server.

Now you should see your BSV coins, and you can send them over to your BSV deposit address on CoinEx.com.
Monitoring Your Transactions:
If you want to monitor your transactions on both the BCH & BSV blockchains, you can enter your transaction ID on the different BCH & BSV block explorers.
