Dear all,
I am writing a paper on e-commerce solutions and I would like to have your feedback as I am preparing a survey. After the integration of PayPal on eBay and many e-commerce websites, the rise of cryptocurrencies might be considered a future mode of payment.
I would like to know your opinions about the future of payments on e-commerce websites. Which cryptocurrency(ies) would be the best suited solution?
I list here four cryptocurrencies:

Bitcoin
Ethereum
Monero
Ripple
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thank you very much for your help.
Please share any ideas?

I have read that it might be adopted in some darknet marketplaces, but how could it be implemented of EC in the presence of other cryptos?

There's talk Amazon might accept LTC for payments, BTC too.

DASH another possibility.

I think you have blockchains conflated with fintech. It's true that many of these crypto assets are currencies of sorts but all four that you have listed would be poor choices for the level of e-commerce that you describe.

Bitcoin is more an immutable store of value.
Ethereum is a commodity for access to a global computing surface.
XRP (not Ripple) acts as counterbalance in bank to bank transactions.
Monero is highly unlikely to go mainstream due to auditing and money laundering concerns.

Thanks gimperion
There are more than 750 cryptos and the one I have taken are selected because they are mainstream. The exponential speed of the blockchain technology and its adoption and affording less time to see the bigger picture for the long term.

What might finally shake out is not that a crypto is directly used for payment settlement but rather it serves as the foundation for a settlement layer. For example, you pay for things using a credit card but you eventually pay off that credit card with money from your bank account. Until then, it's just a number on VISA's balance sheet.

There are a number of startups already trying to capitalize this, issuing credit cards where you don't pay directly with the token but use tokens to settle balances on at a much more leisurely pace. Thus far, very few blockchains can run at 10k+/sec transaction speed that live payments would require.

I started reading about PlexCoin and how it could be linked to a dedicated PlexVisa. This will need to be tested.
