NICEHASH: AFTER THE 63 MILLION DOLLARS FLOADED BY THE MINING PLATFORM, ITS CEO DECIDES TO WITHDRAW
Marko Kobal, co-founder of the Slovenian marketplace dedicated to cryptocurrency mining NiceHash, announced last week his resignation from his position as CEO. This withdrawal comes just days after the attack on NiceHash - an attack that caused the loss of more than $ 60 million.
Marko Kobal announces his resignation
For NiceHash, the month of December was not easy. The mining marketplace was robbed on Dec. 6, with a total of 4,000 Bitcoins, worth about $ 63 million. When writing this article, these Bitcoins still could not be recovered.
Marko Kobal, the CEO of the Slovenian start-up, announced that he was pulling out of NiceHash's head to make way for Zdravko Poljašević.
Mr. Kobal announced his resignation from his position as CEO on LinkedIn, saying he was "incredibly privileged to be part of the enthusiasm for the deployment of NiceHash", and that he would now "stand back, and allow a new management team to lead the organization to another exciting period of growth. "
As part of his resignation, Kobal is preparing to sell 45% of his shares in NiceHash. Part of these will be sold to an external investor, and the rest will be bought by the majority shareholder of NicheHash, the company H-Bit.
NiceHash will soon repay users
At the same time, the company was keen to respond to the concerns of its users, who suddenly saw the balance of their account decrease.
In an advertisement posted on its website, NiceHash announced that it plans to reimburse members of its "community":
"Our community is very important to us, and because of the loyalty of our users, we want to make sure that everyone is fully reimbursed after what has happened. We think about it since the day of the piracy of which we were victims ".
"We were able to reserve the necessary funds to restore the balances, thanks to a group of institutional investors who entered the capital of our company. The exact date of the refund will be announced on January 31, 2018. We need this temporary period to ensure that all documents are processed properly, and we ask you to be kind enough to be patient while we let's go there. "
