Japanese GMO Internet plans to pay salaries in bitcoins

And almost no one uses bitcoin to pay wages. The Japanese company GMO Internet Group decided to be among the first to change this.

GMO Internet has long been showing increased interest in bitcoin. Now the company's management is considering the possibility of official work with the crypto currency, including the possibility of paying part of the salary to its employees in BTC.

According to experts, this is a rather risky option, given that bitcoin has rather high volatility. However, the management of GMO Internet Group is very optimistic - they are sure that the cost of bitcoin will grow and therefore there is a hope for a positive trend.

According to the plans of the Internet giant, employees will be given the opportunity to choose which part of their salary they want to receive in bitcoins. The minimum is 10,000 yen, the maximum is 100,000 yen. This is a very small amount compared to how much GMO employees earn, but this is just the beginning. Those who decide to switch to such a payment system can expect an additional bonus of up to 10%.

Japan is famous for its always keeping pace with the times. If GMO succeeds in this matter, there is a high probability that other major Japanese companies will follow suit.

In the opinion of the company's management, crypto-currencies are a universal means of payment. However, their instability has a negative impact on any attempts to expand the scope of the crypto currency.
