New coin, Bitcoin Core, pokes fun at Bitcoin versus Bitcoin Cash rivalry
Bitcoin Core (BTCC) is a name that ought to cause some consternation... and maybe a little anger.
The ironically named Bitcoin Core (BTCC) has announced its arrival as a fork from Bitcoin. This is sure to cause some consternation among those in the Bitcoin Cash crowd that have referred to Bitcoin as Bitcoin Core as a way to create a sense of equivalency between their forked currency and the original Bitcoin. It will be interesting to see if the new Bitcoin Core can capture enough attention to cause confusion in nomenclature among those who now prefer to refer to Bitcoin as Bitcoin Core.
Of course, there have been many forks of Bitcoin, some successful, like Bitcoin Cash and most recently, Bitcoin Private, but this seems to be a deliberate poke at the Bitcoin Cash crowd. The Bitcoin Cash campaign has used confusion, such as claiming to be "the real Bitcoin" on websites like bitcoin.com (the original Bitcoin website is bitcoin.org) and on social media such as Twitter, to draw attention to their alternative solution that they feel adheres more closely to Satoshi's vision of "peer-to-peer electronic cash".
Whether or not Bitcoin Cash is a truer fulfilment of Satoshi's vision for cryptocurrency, it is evident that proponents of Bitcoin Cash have used deception and confusion as tactics to gain support and interest, even going so far as to have the wallet on their official website called the "Bitcoin wallet" for a short period of time. Anyone who sent actual Bitcoin to the Bitcoin Cash wallet would have lost their funds. It has since been slightly clarified by calling it a "Bitcoin.com wallet" with support for both "Bitcoin Cash" and "Bitcoin Core".
So now that Bitcoin Core actually exists as yet another fork of Bitcoin, how will these Bitcoin Cash supporters discern between the original Bitcoin and the new Bitcoin Core, as compared to their own coin? After all, they can hardly accuse the developers of Bitcoin Core of behaving deceptively after behaving in an identical manner. And what of the inevitable upcoming Bitcoin Core Cash (BTCC...H?) fork that is bound to follow?
It should make for an interesting conundrum and a few heated discussions.

Every day new clone.
This one is clearly a tongue-in-cheek jab at BCH. I don't see it gathering any value. Then again, Dogecoin...
