Aragon - Unstoppable Organizations
The basic activity happening in everyday life is transactions of value - the exchange of goods, services, investments, assets, time, intellectual property, entertainment - everything. All of this has become heavily intermediated and tied to government function, of course this is for good reason in many cases.
The internet has created a space where we have digital companies operating without a physical centralized core. Is it fair to charge such an entity taxes? If so, where? Aragon puts down the building blocks for a more mentally tangible space, where cloud based businesses can operate in support of a greater goal (as does a physical company in paying taxes to its native country), by supporting the protocols that allow for its existence - the blockchain network.
Aragon utilizes blockchain technology to replace inefficiencies,
It creates the ability to automate many of the arduous, human dependent factors that have been put in place to maintain a fair market for the exchange of value anywhere around the world.
What draws me to the validity and strength of this project is that after reading through their website, I don't want it to be better. It isn't vague or confusing. Their goal is clear.
This organization is not out for big profit.
The project is grounded in The Aragon Foundation - a non-profit which funded it's initial growth and now functions to promote their use of blockchain technology, encourage 3rd party developers to build greater functionality, and help spread adoption of its technology.

This turns boring, normal stuff into something actually kind of crazy. Developments like this would be huge for areas such as Detroit, where I live, let alone the hundreds of cities around the world dealing major economic turmoil.
Getting a business of the ground in accordance with the law is nearly impossible if you are near or below the poverty line - lack of access to loans, advice and marketing tools - yet these are exactly the individuals who would benefit most form being able to take in 100% of the work they put in, rather than a pay check...
...that then many individuals don't have a checking account to deposit into for free. Oh boy. This is getting into the overall issues with banks and the importance of cryptocurrencies to unbanked individuals - let's not go there right now.
So, I had heard it's supposed to be a sort of governing body, but without the body part...
A Digital Jurisduction
What's the point? This is what makes unstoppable businesses.
The Aragon Network is the first Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAO) whose purpose is to mediate conflict in human business transactions that fall outside of what can be coded into a smart contract - i.e. any value quantifiable by emotion.
Further, I see the capability here to mitigate the ability of major businesses to pay their way out of wrongs they have done by bogging down the court system until the smaller party cannot afford to fight back any longer.
Major Diffrentiators to remember:
- Decentralized Arbitrition
- Totally Customizable
- Simple
Aragon was the 4th largest crowdfunding event in history - 2nd in the blockchain space. Nearly $25 million was raised. Their ICO ended in Mid My '17. It operates on the Ethereum platform.
